CREATIVE CAMINITO COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY
Caminito Community Interest Company promotes the culture and music of Argentina, both tango and folklore. We aim to explore themes and issues around this amazingly rich culture and to create interactive, educational, creative and artistic experiences. There will be both an online and offline community and events program. Each month a song will be chosen which will be the starting point for an adventure around the emotions, history, music, poetry and imagery surrounding the song. Podcasts, interviews, blog posts, recordings, videos and other content will be released to help you step more deeply into this universe. You can contribute with your own creativity, through storytelling, visuals, music or words. Throughout the year there will be orchestra workshops, concerts and other events giving you an embodied experience of everything you will see or access online.
Access to various content will be available on several platforms, and for those of you who wish to perfect your tango music performance skills, you will have the choice of a learning platform online, or member participation in our orchestra escuela (see below for more information) which meet monthly in London and Leeds.
Over the next few months we will be building our central platform and will send out a newsletter when we are ready to launch! Hope to see you there!

Caminito orchestra escuela - passionate, dramatic fun!
Hola!
Exciting news! This Orquesta Escuela project has now teamed up with Casa Latina (https://casalatina.org.uk/) to continue the adventure of Caminito Orquesta Escuela!
This is a tango music training orchestra for semi-pros and amateur musicians. You need to be able to read music and having the equivalent of a Grade 4 standard upwards would be very helpful. There will be performances throughout the year at real milongas and at Casa Latina, to recreate the feel of tango as it is in Buenos Aires, and one rehearsal a month of 4 hours in London on Saturdays.
The rehearsals are held from 2:15-6:15 pm at Latin American House, 10 Kingsgate Place, London NW6 4TA, United Kingdom
In 2021 a second orchestra was set up in Leeds - please ask for details.
We will be asking students to pay to join this project in order to help cover the cost of room hire, rental of keyboards and other equipment and to pay the tango music teachers. The current fee is £200 per semester, and you can do one or both semesters (Sept-Jan, Feb - June). We plan to bring in teachers from Argentina when they are on tour in the UK.
The monthly rehearsals will be held by myself or other tango musicians from London or Paris. So far we have Enrique Galassi (bass), John Turville (piano), Guillermo Willis (bandoneon), Guillermo Rozenthuler (voice) and Javier Fioramonti (guitar) who work with us as assistant teachers.
For those who are interested please let me know what your level is (arrangements will cater to the various levels of the students).
We ask that those who decide to join, to commit to the performance and rehearsal dates so that we can create a great orchestral sound and have fantastic performances together! Rehearsals take place on the first Saturday of every month.
The instruments we are looking for are:
Accordion/bandoneon
Violin/viola/cello
Double bass
Piano
Guitar
Flute/clarinet
Voice
There is no limit to how many students we can accept so feel free to join us!
Thanks for reading and hope to play tango with you soon!
